I created this course for an eLearning challenge hosted by Tim Slade’s eLearning Academy in November 2023.
The title slide features an instrumental version of Old MacDonald had a Farm as the corner turkeys pop in (timed with the “gobble gobble here, gobble, gobble there”).

TARGET AUDIENCE:
Anyone who wants to learn how to roast a thanksgiving turkey – especially designed for beginner’s.
PROBLEM:
Even the most experienced turkey chefs probably only roast a whole turkey once or twice a year. There’s so much involved in this process that it’s easy to forget . There’s a lot of important information that a newbie might overlook. Gobble Farms has decided to create some free basic training (with the novice in mind) on how to best prepare a turkey – from selection to handling to preparing and actually cooking the turkey.
Learners click each of the five feathers to navigate to the five course topics. Tom Turkey was deconstructed in Photoshop so that each of the main feathers are individual pieces. This was done so that I could apply a visited state as the user clicked each turkey to go to the different menu items. To get back to the menu, users are instructed to click on the Gobble Farms turkey logo.

I would not normally use red font but for the sake of variety (I didn’t want all black text and light and orange were not good colors for visibility), I used red but a darker shade of the red when used for a heading.

Course has alt text for images, closed captions, and headings.
This course was created by me specifically for the eLearning Challenge and my portfolio and as such I own all the rights to it and can provide a full storyboard.
