REO 101 is one of the best examples of my work from the standpoint of visual design and interactivity. By now you can probably guess that I do like color and use it when I can.
TOOLS:
TARGET AUDIENCE:
Employees working in the mortgage servicing industry
PROBLEM:
This course is more informational rather than problem oriented. REO 101 covers the basics of what happens when a property goes into default and ends up back in the hands of the lender. It is standard industry knowledge, and not proprietary software. This course walks the user through the six phases of the REO process.
BACKGROUND:
Most of my eLearning for Black Knight was software training and simulations which doesn’t lend itself to having as much fun with design, but I try to work it in when I can! This course was a revamp of a totally outdated Captivate 8 course developed from 2014 that featured bobbleheads and cartoonish graphics. I relied heavily on the Adobe QuickStart slides to make it interactive.
Initially, when I started redoing this course we did not have an image subscription. So I was forced to scour the internet for free images. I found a free image of the row houses, but it was not visually pleasing. I have a little trick I learned back in the days when we didn’t have an image subscription –skillful use of a multi-color gradient overlay can do wonders for a mediocre image and help give the course a cohesive look and blend with your color theme. I ended up building this course around the free row house image – even after we got Adobe Stock.
